Running for public office is a difficult proposition, especially for federal office. I have been an underdog in about every venture that I have ever pursued in life. Pressing the limits of my personal potential at every turn has been my life story. It has been exhausting. I cannot stress the importance of a good wife in a man’s life.

Hope, my wife, is the absolute love of my life and the biggest supporter of everything I have pursued during our marriage of 30 years. She has always been supportive and encouraging. We both deserve to rest. God knows the struggles that we have endured in building and sustaining a business and more importantly raising a family successfully. Both our children are grown and on their own. Both seeking their dreams of entrepreneurship. They are both God-fearing, family-loving, and patriotic to the Country.

 

We moved to the Appalachians to retire and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Labor filled with trials, struggles, and frustration. All of which were overcome with determination, hard work, and true grit. So, another challenge is ahead. A challenge not foreseen nor desired. A challenge that we cannot walk away from - but one worthy of the risk.
